Researchers developed a mixed-methods approach to analyze goals and goal achievement in patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing first-line treatment. Using semi-structured interview sessions, study investigators developed individual patient-generated goals that were ranked and categorized into 8 different content domains. Post-study analysis revealed that patients viewed their goals as both attainable and manageable, highlighting the potential success clinicians could see in merging personal goal setting with oncology care.
